Salaar Box Office Collection Day 1: Prabhas’ action flick on track to cross ₹95 crore mark on opening day
The much-anticipated action thriller, Salaar, starring Prabhas and Prithviraj Sukumaran, has hit the theatres with a thunderous response, signalling a potentially historic opening day at the box office. Directed by Prashanth Neel, the film has generated immense excitement among the audience, and early estimates suggest that it is well on its way to creating a cinematic milestone in India.

According to data from Sacnilk, Salaar is on the brink of achieving a colossal opening day collection of ₹95 crore across India in all languages. The film’s performance has overshadowed the competition, notably outpacing Shah Rukh Khan’s Dunki, which debuted with around ₹30 crore on its opening day. What sets Salaar apart is not only its star-studded cast but also the anticipation built around the film, leading to nearly ₹50 crore in advance sales for its first day.
Hombale Films, led by Vijay Kirgandur, revealed on the X platform (formerly Twitter) that Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire witnessed a staggering sale of 30.25 lakh tickets in India as part of bookings, excluding national chain multiplexes like PVR, Inox and Cinepolis. The craze for the film reached its zenith in the Telugu states, with 13.25 lakh tickets sold in Andhra Pradesh and 6 lakh tickets in Telangana.
@BoxOfficeIndia, an X account dedicated to tracking India’s movie industry collections, declared that Salaar has made history by selling over 3 million tickets ahead of its release. “It’s set to have a Huge Opening all over India and worldwide tomorrow with an opening prediction of 175crs,” the post read.
Breaking down the early estimates, the film is expected to collect ₹17.35 crore in Telangana, ₹13.22 crore in Andhra Pradesh and over ₹38 crore in Telugu-speaking states, as per Sacnilk data.
In the Hindi-speaking states, Salaar has already sold over 22,000 tickets, with an estimated collection of over ₹5 crore. The movie is also making its mark in Malayalam-speaking states, where it is projected to collect ₹2.21 crore.
The movie unfolds in the crime-infested fictional metropolis of Khansaar, where Prithviraj portrays Varadha Raja Mannar, embroiled in an intense struggle for control over the city. Prabhas, in the role of Salaar, aligns with his comrades to confront adversaries and assist him in ascending to the city’s leadership.
Shruti Haasan, Anand, Jagapathi Babu, and others are featured alongside Prabhas in Salaar. The film is set to be released in Telugu, Malayalam, Tamil, Hindi, and Kannada.
