Hollywood actor, comedian and singer Jamie Foxx, who is widely known for his portrayal of Ray Charles in the film Ray, has been booked for alleged sexual misconduct that happened 8-year-ago in New York City.
According to a report by US tabloid TMZ, the court documents reveal that Foxx has been sued by a woman who alleged that the actor allegedly assaulted her at the Catch restaurant’s rooftop in New York City in August 2015.
As per the documents, the unnamed complainant alleged that Foxx intentionally and without her consent used force to offensively touch her, by groping her at the rooftop bar in Manhattan’s Catch restaurant.
The lawsuit has been filed under New York's Adult Survivor's Act, which provides a one-year window for sexual assault complainants to file civil claims, regardless of the statute of limitations.
According to reports, the lawsuit mentions that the incident took place at around 1 AM when a friend of the complainant asked Foxx for a picture. She claimed that the actor seemed to be intoxicated at the time, and he complimented the complainant on her looks. Foxx reportedly told the complainant that she looked like a supermodel and compared her to Hollywood actress Gabrielle Union.
The woman further mentioned in the lawsuit that the actor pulled her by the arm to the back area of the rooftop, where he allegedly placed his hands on her waist, moved around her top and started touching her breasts. She mentioned that she tried to step away and spotted that a security guard and others who saw the incident, chose to walk away.
As per the reports, the lawsuits seek compensation for pain, suffering, emotional distress, anxiety and humiliation.

Apparently, it is not the first time that the actor Jamie Foxx has been accused of harassment as previously, during the MeToo movement, the actor was accused by another woman of similar misconduct. However, Jamie denied the claims.
In another development, on Wednesday, music industry veteran Jimmy Iovine was also sued by a woman for sexual abuse. In her complaint filed in the New York state court in Manhattan, the woman claimed that Iovine forcibly touched her and subjected her to sexual harassment in August 2007.
Iovine is a record engineer, and co-founder of Interscope Records, which is a music label associated with West Coast hip hop that is now part of Universal Music Group.
