Raj Kapoor is playing an active role in the upcoming Grammys and Oscars -- Know all about him

According to an official release by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, Raj Kapoor has worked in show business for the past seven years. Previously in Oscars, Kapoor had also directed the Oscar-winning song Naatu Naatu from the movie RRR.

Born in New Delhi, India, Raj Kapoor moved to Canada with his parents at a young age. Kapoor spent his childhood in Alberta where his interest was immersed in music and dance. Following his inclination, Kapoor chose a career that allowed him to spend more time making music videos, telecasting dance videos, and award shows. It also included the Bollywood movies and music.

Kapoor has received six Primetime Emmy nominations including four for the outstanding variety special for The Grammys in 2019, 2021, and 2022, and Oscars in 2023, said the official statement.

Additionally, Kapoor’s credits include the ACM Awards, the Latin Grammys, the Emmys, and many more.

Kapoor has so far done significant work in the entertainment industry. It includes his direction and production work in Vegas residencies for the Backstreet Boys, Mariah Carey, John Fogerty, and Shania Twain. He has also worked for numerous large-scale tours for Jason Aldean, American Idol, Dancing with the Stars, Jewel, Jonas Brothers, Juanes, Demi Lovato, Tim McGraw & Faith Hill, OneRepublic, and Rascal Flatts among others.

In a career span of over two decades in the business, Kapoor has amassed major attention not only for his significant work in Hollywood but also for sharing a name with one of the veteran showmen of the Indian film industry, Raj Kapoor.
