Oscars 2024: 'RRR' roars again, this time in tribute to stunt coordinators

A year after its historic win, filmmaker SS Rajamouli's RRR graced the prestigious Oscars 2024 ceremony, bringing forth a momentous occasion for Indian cinema lovers yet again. While the film was not competing in any category at the 96th Academy Awards on Sunday, its presence was strongly felt during a special tribute given to the stunt coordinators when a montage featuring some of the most electrifying action sequences from the film was screened.

At the Oscars 2024 ceremony, actors Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt paid a special tribute to the contribution of stunt coordinators across the globe. As they shed light on the contributions of the stunt coordinators to cinema, several memorable action sequences from different films were showcased in the tribute. However, one moment, which captured the internet's attention, was the breathtaking climax scene of RRR.

This was not the only time when RRR made its presence felt at the Oscars 2024 ceremony. Later, when Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande took to the stage to announce the winner for the Best Original Score and Best Song categories, the popular song Naatu Naatu from RRR was played in the backdrop, featuring the two lead actors -- Ram Charan and Jr NTR -- doing the signature step in it.
