Talking about the film, trade analyst Taran Adarsh wrote on X, “It’s tough to make a biopic on a stalwart and encompass pertinent episodes from his lifespan in 2+ hours… #NationalAward-winning director #RaviJadhav achieves it with flourish… #MainAtalHoon is, without doubt, one of the finest biopics made in recent times.”

Talking about the film, Pankaj Tripathi earlier told ANI, “The personality of Atal Bihari Vajpayee is such that it cannot be compared to present-day politicians. He was a poet... He was a leader whose staunchest enemies were also his admirers...”
The first look of Main Atal Hoon was unveiled on December 25, 2022, on the birthday anniversary of Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
Vajpayee served as the Prime Minister of India thrice — first for a term of 13 days in 1996, then for 13 months from 1998 to 1999, and later for a full term from 1999 to 2004.
He was one of the co-founders and a veteran leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
In 2014, Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government announced that Vajpayee's birthday on December 25 would be marked as Good Governance Day in the country.
Vajpayee was conferred India's highest civilian honour, Bharat Ratna, in 2015. He passed away in 2018 due to age-related illness.
