Director and Producer Karan Johar has finally announced the upcoming season of his talk show ‘Koffee with Karan’. Season 8 of the celebrity chat show will start streaming on Disney Plus Hotstar on October 26. The host of the show, Karan Johan, updated about the final date on Wednesday along with a teaser of ‘Koffee with Karan Season 8’ on Instagram.
Sharing the funny teaser of the show on Instagram, Karan wrote, “Turns out, my own Konscience wants to troll me too! But screw what he thinks, I’m still brewing Season 8!”
In the teaser, Karan is seen talking to his ‘Konscience’. His conscience or ‘Konscience’ is seen trolling him for his boring conversations in the previous season of ‘Koffee with Karan’ and calls it ‘lame’. The conversation also highlights the ‘painful monologues’ and the host being busy with brand endorsements and coming up with old ideas. While in an argument with his conscience, Karan reveals the date of the upcoming ‘Koffee with Karan Season 8’ and claims that the latest season will be different.
After Karan Johar’s announcement, Disney Plus Hotstar shared the teaser on YouTube, which garnered a massive response.
Many fans have expressed their excitement for the upcoming season. One of them commented, “The iconic show is back! So is Kjo!”
Adding to the same, another said, “No one does it like KJo. Super excited for this.”
Meanwhile, some of them were also seen to appreciate the hosts’ courage in making fun of himself. One viewer commented, “Really, Karan is so much sport making jokes on himself. Guts. Really like him for this quality.”
“Hahaha, only Karan can admit that his last season was thanda. Kudos,” read another comment.
‘Koffee with Karan’ hosted by Karan Johar made its debut in November 2004. In the span of 19 years, seven seasons of the show have been released so far.
It has been a popular show among viewers since its first season as the show digs into the less discussed topics related to the work and life of the celebrities who appear as guests on the show.
In the past few years, the show has also grabbed headlines for controversial interviews.
In the previous season of the show, Karan also hosted south stars like Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Vijay Deverakonda apart from Bollywood stars like Aamir Khan, Kareena Kapoor, and Anil Kapoor, among others. Apart from the film stars, the show also held special episode guests, including the comedians, Tanmay Bhat and Danish Sait as well as social media influencers like Kusha Kapila and Niharika NM.
