Janhvi Kapoor joins Ram Charan’s next with director Buchi Babu Sana
It's actress Janhvi Kapoor's 27th birthday, and her fans have more than one reason to cherish and celebrate the Dhadak diva. Janhvi will be seen in Telugu superstar Ram Charan's next film, tentatively titled RC 16, in an important role.

An official post from the film’s team on X reads, “#RC16 welcomes Birthday Girl #JanhviKapoor on-board! #Shivarajkumar is Playing a key role. #RamCharanRevolts In theatres 2025!”
Janhvi Kapoor is speculated to play a pivotal role in RC16, while the buzz is that Ram Charan will be seen in a dual role. This movie marks the debut collaboration between Ram Charan and acclaimed director Buchi Babu Sana, renowned for the blockbuster Uppena. Also part of the film is Sita Ramam star Mrunal Thakur.
While specifics about RC16 remain under wraps, rumour has it that it's a gripping rural sports drama, possibly centred around Kabaddi. As per Pinkvilla, Buchi Babu Sana earlier revealed that he dedicated nearly four years to crafting the script, expressing confidence in its potential to become a blockbuster.
Pinkvilla also reported that it was revealed that renowned cinematographer R. Rathnavelu has joined RC16 as the Director of Photography. This February announcement was accompanied by actor Shiva Rajkumar’s revelation in a previous interview that he would essay a crucial role in the film. AR Rahman will compose music for the venture.
For Janhvi Kapoor, RC16 is her second film in Telugu cinema after her debut in Devara alongside Jr. NTR, directed by Koratala Siva. The movie, which also features Prakash Raj, Saif Ali Khan, Shine Tom Chacko, and others in important roles, is scheduled for release on October 10 this year.
Janhvi Kapoor, the daughter of producer Boney Kapoor and veteran actor Sridevi, made her film debut in Shashank Khaitan’s Dhadak, where she played the lead role. The film was a remake of the 2016 Marathi blockbuster Sairat.
After that, she appeared in several films, including Good Luck Jerry, Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl, Roohi, and Bawaal. Apart from her debut in Devara and her upcoming film with Ram Charan, Janhvi will be seen in Mahi, Mr. and Mrs, Ulajh, and Sunny Sunskari Ki Tulsi Kumari.
