The ‘Badshah’ of Bollywood, Shah Rukh Khan is celebrating his 58th birthday on Thursday, November 2. Shah Rukh witnessed one of the most successful years of his career in 2023 with the blockbuster performance of his two movies Jawan and Pathaan at the box office. Both the movies collectively grossed over ₹2,000 crore worldwide.
This year’s birthday celebration of King Khan will be marking a special event for his fans, as the official teaser of his upcoming movie, Dunki is expected to be unveiled on this special occasion. Dunki will be released in theatres on December 22. The movie features Taapsee Pannu, Vicky Kaushal, and Boman Irani among others besides Shah Rukh Khan.
Shah Rukh was born on November 2, 1965, to a Muslim family in New Delhi. However, he spent his initial five years in Mangalore with his maternal grandparents. Later, he came back to his parents’ place in Rajendra Nagar, New Delhi. He attended St. Columba’s School while he earned his Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Hansraj College, Delhi University, in 1988.
During his college days, Shah Rukh used to actively participate in plays as a member of Delhi’s Theatre Action Group (TAG). Following his bachelor’s degree, Shah Rukh went on to get a Master’s degree in mass communication from Jamia Millia Islamia University. However, he dropped out and pursued acting instead.
After making his debut in the 1989 television series, Fauji, Shah Rukh gained significant recognition. He played the leading role of Abhimanyu Rai in Fauji. Following the success of the series, the actor stepped into films and eventually in the next couple of years he emerged as one of the leading actors of Bollywood. He has gained immense popularity and a huge fan following due to his versatile acting. The Bollywood superstar is a global icon today and he is one of the highest-paid actors in Indian cinema.
As per reports, King Khan has so far worked in over 90 films and has earned numerous accolades including 14 Filmfare awards as well.

Shah Rukh Khan, known as the ‘King of Romance’, has been the fourth richest actor in the world. With his perseverance and hard work, the actor has built a fortune for himself and commands a massive net worth. As per the recent reports by Lifestyle Asia, Shah Rukh Khan’s net worth is estimated to be around $760 million, or approximately ₹6,300 crore.
Reportedly, a major part of his earnings comes from the movie projects. He reportedly charges ₹100-150 crore for a film. Although Shah Rukh did not charge any remuneration for Pathaan, he took 60% of the profit.
Apart from the film project, Shah also earns from the businesses owned and the brand endorsements done by him. One of his majorly successful businesses is Red Chillies Entertainment which he co-owns with his wife, Gauri Khan. Additionally, he also co-owns an IPL team, Kolkata Knight Riders. King Khan also owns major stakes in start-ups such as Byju’s and Kidzania.
Shah Rukh Khan owns multiple expensive properties and luxury cars. His luxury mansion, Mannat, located in Mumbai is valued at ₹200 crore. Additionally, he owns a villa in London and another in Palm Jumeirah, Dubai.
King Khan’s luxury fleet includes a Rolls-Royce Phantom Drophead Coupe, a Rolls-Royce Cullinan Black, a Bentley Continental GT, a Bugatti Veyron, a BMW 7-Series, a BMW 6-Series Convertible, a Land Rover Range Rover Sport, a BMW i8 and a Toyota Land Cruiser, among others.
