Fighter day 2 box office collection: Hrithik Roshan's film witnesses 70% jump, collects ₹39 crore
Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone-starrer aerial action film Fighter, which started on a rock-solid note by minting ₹24.60 crore on the first day, witnessed a big jump of over 70% in its collection on Day 2, thanks to the positive word of mouth.

Fighter collected around ₹39 crore on the second day on Friday, which was also the 75th Republic Day.
Directed by Siddharth Anand, Fighter hit the cinemas on Thursday (January 25). The patriotic film revolves around the lives of Indian Air Force pilots. With a collection of over ₹60 crore in its first two days, Fighter is expected to cross the ₹100 crore mark in its opening weekend itself.
Fighter saw an overall occupancy of 41.57% on Friday.
After having a slow start in the morning shows (23.40%), the film's afternoon and evening shows witnessed 44.81% and 52.66% occupancy.
In Mumbai, the film witnessed a 48.75% occupancy in 489 shows, while in the national capital, it saw 50.50% occupancy from 736 shows. The film also performed well in cities like Pune, Kolkata, and Bengaluru where it had an occupancy of 46.50%, 48%, and 41.50%, respectively.
Besides Hrithik and Deepika, the film also features Anil Kapoor, Akshay Oberoi, Karan Singh Grover, and Sanjeeda Sheikh.
It revolves around an elite unit, Air Dragons, which has been commissioned by the Air Headquarters in response to militant activities in Jammu and Kashmir's Srinagar.
The story revolves around a quick response team -- including Squadron Leader Shamsher Pathania (Hrithik) and Squadron Leader Minal Rathore (Deepika) -- which has been set up by Group Captain Rakesh Jai Singh (Anil Kapoor) to carry out retaliatory airstrikes in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) after a terror attack on the Indian armed forces in Pulwama -- mirroring a real attack from 2019.
“After an ordinary/average start in morning and noon shows, #Fighter picked up pace post 5 pm onwards on Day 1 (working day before the big holiday). Agree, the biggie should’ve targeted a higher number on its opening day, but the good news is that the audience feedback is excellent and that should translate into big numbers today ,” film trade expert Taran Adarsh wrote on X on Friday.
“#Fighter has performed best at major centres on Day 1, but biz is not in sync with the merits of the film in mass circuits… However, the mass pockets should come on board today
The film has been presented by Viacom18 Studios in collaboration with Marflix Pictures.
