Dunki advance booking: Shah Rukh starrer sells 1.4 lakh tickets, nears ₹5 crore on opening day
Shah Rukh Khan's much-anticipated film, "Dunki," is set to be released in just three days, and the pre-release excitement is palpable with the starting of ticket bookings.

According to the latest report from Sacnilk.com, the advance booking for "Dunki" opened on Saturday, resulting in the sale of  144,186 tickets across 6,394 shows for the film's premiere on December 21.
This pre-release surge suggests that the film is set to rake in a minimum of ₹4.45 crore on its opening day in India.
Looking positive about the response to the Shah Rukh film, film trade analyst Ramesh Bala tweeted Sunday night, “Despite not being a Mass Action movie, #SRK 's #Dunki has sold 100K tickets in advance already.”
Notably, "Dunki" is slated to clash with Prabhas-starrer "Salaar: Ceasefire," scheduled for release a day later on December 2.
The Hindi version of "Salaar" has also seen good pre-sales, with approximately 16,000 tickets valued at ₹55 lakh already sold as per Sacnilk.com. The overall pre-sales for "Salaar" are estimated at ₹3 crores, based on the sale of 125,800 tickets, and the advance booking for Telugu shows is yet to kick off. Anticipation for "Salaar" may witness a spike following the release of its trailer on Monday.
Directed by Rajkumar Hirani, known for his work on "Sanju," "Dunki" boasts stellar cast including Taapsee Pannu, Vicky Kaushal, Boman Irani, Vikram Kochhar, Anil Grover, and Jyoti Subhash in pivotal roles.
Shah Rukh Khan recently flew to Dubai to promote the film and, during an event at Dubai's Global Village, shared insights into "Dunki," emphasizing its thematic focus on the significance of home. Reflecting on the diverse audience present in Dubai, Shah Rukh Khan conveyed, "This whole film talks about home is where the heart is."
The film, based on real-life experiences, revolves around four friends embarking on a challenging yet transformative journey to fulfill their dreams. "Dunki" marks Shah Rukh Khan's third and final release of 2023, following the success of "Pathaan" and "Jawan," both action-packed blockbusters.
