Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh announce pregnancy; expecting their first child in September

The announcement confirms weeks of speculation that Deepika, 38, was expecting her first child with the 38-year-old actor. Recently, she made an appearance at the BAFTA, after which many speculated that she was pregnant. Deepika was a presenter at the award show. At the ceremony, she was seen donning a saree and appeared to be trying to hide her midriff.

Earlier in an interview, she said that they love children and were looking forward to the day when they would start a family.

“In this industry, it’s easy to get carried away by fame and money. But no one treats me like a celebrity at home. I am a daughter and a sister first. I don’t want that to change. My family keeps me grounded and Ranveer and I hope to inculcate the same values in our children,” she had said.

Deepika and Ranveer have worked together in films like Goliyon Ki Rasleela Ram-Leela, Bajirao Mastani, Padmaavat, and 83. They will next be seen together in Rohit Shetty's Singham Again, which is slated to hit screens around the world later this year.

She was recently seen in Siddharth Anand's Fighter alongside Hrithik Roshan and Anil Kapoor. Besides Singham Again, she will also be seen in Kalki 2898 AD, touted to be the most expensive film in the Indian cinema. It also features Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, and Disha Patani.

Meanwhile, Ranveer was last seen on screen in Karan Johar's Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, which also featured Alia Bhatt, Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan, and Shabana Azmi among others.
