Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma, known for his love of music, is yet again grabbing attention for his exceptional guitar skills.
In a recent video, posted by the charismatic leader on Instagram, he can be seen playing electric guitar to the tune of ‘Wasted Years’, a popular song by the English heavy metal band Iron Maiden.
“Another rocking night. Iron maiden this time,” Sangma wrote alongside the video, in which he can be seen performing on stage with full enthusiasm at a cafe, as the audience cheered for him, while some of them can be seen recording his performance on mobile phones.
The video went viral on the social media platform as many lauded the Meghalaya Chief Minister for his extraordinary skills. "Coolest CM of India," one user wrote.
Another one added, "You nailed it, sir, awesome! This is so good!". A third person wrote, "Once a rockstar always a rockstar".
Impressed by Sangma's performance, Mahindra Group chairman Anand Mahindra invited the 45-year-old to the Mahindra Blues Festival in February 2024.
"Uber cool... we need you out here at the @mahindrablues in Feb @SangmaConrad," Mahindra wrote on the social media site 'X'.
However, this is not the first time when the National People's Party leader made headlines over his love for guitar. Sangma often shares videos of himself playing the guitar over social media.
Back in 2020, Sangma, who is known for his affinity for music, greeted his followers by performing another Iron Maiden classic in a video.
"After a hectic 3-day Assembly session. unwinding with Some Iron Maiden stuff. It’s been a long while I haven’t played so I guess a few mistakes," he wrote in the caption.
Conrad Sangma is the son of the former Lok Sabha Speaker and Meghalaya Chief Minister PA Sangma.
Earlier this year, his party secured 26 seats out of the 60-member Meghalaya Assembly in the 2023 Assembly elections. Sangma is the 12th Chief Minister of Meghalaya.
