Clint Eastwood has expressed his desire to watch the 2023 Tamil film 'Jigarthanda DoubleX' and its director Karthik Subbaraj said he "can't wait to hear" what the legendary Hollywood actor thinks of the film.
'Jigarthanda DoubleX', a prequel to the 2014 film 'Jigarthanda', pays tribute to Eastwood and Satyajit Ray, according to reports.
While reacting to a fan's post on social media site 'X', Eastwood's team confirmed that the actor-director is aware of 'Jigarthanda DoubleX' and will watch it after wrapping up his film 'Juror No. 2'.

The fan had tagged Eastwood’s official X account and urged him to watch 'Jigarthanda DoubleX' on Netflix.

After hearing about Eastwood's interest in watching the film, Karthik Subbaraj expressed his 'surreal' joy on social media.

Besides Subbaraj, actors Raghava Lawrence and SJ Suryah, who played the lead roles in 'Jigarthanda DoubleX', also thanked Eastwood on Twitter.

'Jigarthanda DoubleX' was released on November 10 and received a positive response from the audience and critics.
Earlier, in an interview with The Hindu, Subbaraj said, “When we made the first promo for the first 'Jigarthanda', it featured a poster of Clint Eastwood. In the new film, the script lends itself very close to the Western tropes, and I have tried to explore it to the maximum. This is the closest tribute I can do for Western films and Eastwood."
