Streaming giant Amazon Prime Video has unveiled its next slate of titles, including new shows and films from prominent directors and actors, for the next two years. At the Prime Video Presents event in Mumbai on Tuesday, in the presence of several top celebrities, filmmaker Karan Johar turned host for the big announcement.

Varun Dhawan, Priyanka Chopra, Shahid Kapoor, Abhishek Bachchan, Ananya Panday, Pankaj Tripathi, Manoj Bajpayee, Rana Daggubati and many others were in attendance.
With the announcement of 69 new series and films, including highly-awaited titles like Citadel: Honey Bunny, Panchayat 3, Mirzapur 3, Kantara: A Legend Chapter 1 and Stree 2, in India, Amazon Prime Video has taken the OTT fight to competitors such as Netflix and Disney plus Hotstar.
Amazon Prime announces 69 releases in India
To begin with, the streamer has 27 original Indian series, including Varun Dhawan and Samantha Ruth Prabhu's Citadel: Honey Bunny, Gulkanda Tales, Siddharth Roy Kapur's Matka King, and Smita Singh's Khauf. Besides these shows, Bhumi Pednekar's Daldal, Tamannaah Bhatia, Diana Penty, Jaaved Jaaferi-starrer Daring Partners, Uorfi Javed's Follow Karlo Yaar, and Zoya Akhtar, Reema Kagti and Ayesha Sood’s In Transit are also there.
The Prime Video line-up also has eight original films, including Anil Kapoor‘s Subedar, Supermen of Malegaon, Sara Ali Khan's Ae Watan Mere Watan, Abhishek Bachchan's Be Happy, Boman Irani’s directorial debut The Mehta Boys, and superstition-themed Chhorii 2 among others.
The streaming giant will also return with Panchayat 3, Mirzapur 3, Paatal Lok 2, and Bandish Bandits 2 in the Hindi language and Suzhal – The Vortex 2 in Tamil.
Apart from the Amazon Original releases, the platform will host 29 licenced films following their theatrical releases, including Sidharth Malhotra's Yodha, Vicky Kaushal and Tripti Dimri's Bad Newz, Rohit Shetty's Singham Again, Shraddha Kapoor's Stree 2, Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon romantic comedy Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya, and Farhan Akhtar’s Don 3.
The list also includes major projects from the South such as Dhanush’s action drama Rayaan, Suriya’s Kanguva, Ram Charan's Game Changer, and Rishab Shetty's Kantara: Chapter 1.
