Ranbir Kapoor's highly-anticipated film Animal looks all set for a flying start at the box office when it hits the screens across the country on Friday, December 1.
The much-awaited film, which stars Rashmika Mandanna as the female lead, has generated a massive buzz ever since its trailer launch earlier this month. Notably, the film's trailer has received over 7.5 crore views on YouTube so far.
With just hours away from its release, the Sandeep Reddy Vanga directorial has already minted over ₹20 crore in advance booking. Till Thursday afternoon, the crime-thriller collected ₹22.41 crore in advance ticket booking across the country, according to industry tracker Sacnilk.com.
The total number of tickets sold in India, across all languages, stands at over 8.5 lakhs.
Despite getting an ‘A’ certificate from the censor board, film trade analysts believe the film has all the potential to earn close to ₹50 crore on its opening day and over ₹100 crore on the opening weekend.
"#Animal - ₹50 cr Opening GUARANTEED. Normal Release Date + Clash + 3.21 Hours Running Time….. The above-mentioned numbers look very easy but trust me it’s not…. POWER of SANDEEP REDDY VANGA vision, popularity of RANBIR KAPOOR, Outstanding CASTING of other actors like BOBBY & ANIL sir + MUSIC & STORY…. Combined Power of Everyone has given us ANIMAL," film trade expert Rohit Jaiswal wrote on X.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared the advance booking details at the national chains, including PVR Inox and Cinepolis. As per the numbers, 2,48,000 tickets have already been sold at PVR Inox and 67,000 at Cinepolis for the opening day.
#Xclusiv… #Animal ONE DAY TO GO… LET’S SEE WHERE THE FINAL ADVANCES LAND… Advance booking status at *national chains*… Note:
Film business expert Girish Johar told Hindustan Times that he is expecting a blazing start to the film despite its ‘A’ certification, long duration, and non-holiday release.
“I am expecting anything between ₹90-100 crore global gross on the first day - at least ₹50-55 crore in Hindi (in India), another ₹15 crore gross from other languages, and ₹30-35 crore from the overseas markets. It can add up to ₹90-100 crore, but obviously, everything depends on the word-of-the-mouth,” he told the news outlet.
If all goes well, Animal will emerge as Ranbir's career-best opening film, overtaking Ayan Mukerji-helmed Brahmastra Part One: Shiva, which minted around ₹36 crore on the first day.
Animal will be released alongside Vicky Kaushal-starrer Sam Bahadur on Friday. The Meghna Gulzar directorial is a biographical war drama based on the life of India's first field marshal, Sam Manekshaw.
The revenge drama, Animal, features Bobby Deol, Anil Kapoor, Shakti Kapoor, and Prem Chopra in important roles. The movie revolves around a toxic relationship between a father and son, played by Anil Kapoor and Ranbir Kapoor, respectively.
