Following the same, Animal has marked its opening day collection at the domestic box office at ₹61 crore, according to rough data by Sacnilk.com. According to the industry tracker, ₹50 crores were minted from the Hindi 2D itself while the rest ₹11 crores has been amassed from Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam languages.
While sharing the data of the first-day collection of Animal at the national chains, film critic and trade analyst, Taran Adarsh wrote on X, “Update: 10.45 pm… PVRInox: ₹ 19.25 cr, Cinepolis: ₹ 5.15 cr, Total: ₹ 24.40 cr.”

Meanwhile, the Sandeep Reddy Vanga helmed Animal has been getting mixed reviews with many calling the movie misogynistic while several praising the unique storyline. An entertainment tracker and critic, Ramesh Bala reviewed the movie by giving it 3.5 stars out of 5 and calling the action thriller ‘Bloody Brilliant’.
He wrote on X, “Yes long… 3 hours 20 minutes duration… It's a character study of the hero played by Ranbir Kapoor 1st Half - High octane action thriller... 2nd Half - Slow burning thriller/drama with an excellent climax…”
On the contrary, an audience of the film said on X, “The real tragedy in Animal was that there were so many unnecessary and unjustified and utterly misogynistic and triggering and toxic scenes which never supported the screenplay, and yet the men around me cheered. It was so uncomfortable that those scenes were being appreciated.”
Another added, “The most disturbing part about watching Animal in the theatre was the laughter when Ranbir's character was hurting Rashmika's character or when there were misogynistic dialogues.”
Sandeep Reddy Vanga directed Animal has been collaboratively backed by T Series, Cars on Film, Cine1 Studios, and Bhadrakali Pictures. It features Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol, Triptii Dimri, Shakti Kapoor, and Prem Chopra besides Ranbir Kapoor and Rashmika Mandanna in prominent roles.
