Bollywood star Akshay Kumar is celebrating his 56th birthday on Saturday, September 9. The actor is in news these days for his latest movie “OMG 2,” which was released in theatres on August 11. The movie has turned out to be a hit with a worldwide box office collection of more than Rs 200 crore.
In his career spanning over 30 years the actor has created a huge fan base for himself. The Khiladi of Bollywood has bagged numerous accolades, including two Filmfare Awards and two National Film Awards.
He has emerged as one of the highest paid actors in Bollywood since his first breakthrough with Abbas-Mustan's 1992 film “Khiladi” and there has been no looking back.

According to reports, Akshay Kumar's net worth is estimated to be more than Rs 2,500 crore. Most of his early successes in Bollywood have fuelled his high net worth. Though film remains his main source of income, he also has several business interests. A major part of his earnings also come from brand endorsements.
The actor reportedly charges Rs 80 crore per movie. He gets around Rs 6 crore per brand endorsement, according to reports. In addition, he also gets a share of the films' profits apart from the remuneration for many of his movies. Moreover, his high net worth can be attributed to his busy schedule in Bollywood as he completes about four to five projects every year.

As a producer, he founded his production house, Hari Om Entertainment Co. (now Cape of Good Films) in 2008 and four years later, he established another production banner named Grazing Goat Pictures. Cape of Good Films has produced 30 Hindi films till date, including box-office hits, such as “Mission Mangal” and “Kesari”, both featuring Akshay Kumar in the lead.
Furthermore, the actor has made some investments and he also owns the 'Khalsa Warriors' Kabaddi team in the World Kabaddi league.
