Ajay Devgn is gearing up for a busy 2024, with at least six releases. His first release of 2024 is Shaitaan, which hits the cinemas on March 8. The film, a Hindi remake of the Gujarati hit Vash, stars R. Madhavan, Jyotika and Janki Bodiwala, with Janki reprising her role from the original.

As the release date approaches, Shaitaan has already had a promising start in bookings. The film has witnessed a significant 55% jump in bookings compared to the previous day, surpassing the 2-crore mark.
This indicates a strong opening for Shaitaan on Friday, March 8. According to Sacnilk, over the last 24 hours, more than 3,500 additional shows have been added to the film's tally, bringing the total to 9,235. Currently, nearly 1.15 lakh tickets have been sold, with the Maharashtra and Delhi circuits leading in bookings.
Shaitaan falls within the horror genre, with fans of the original praising it as one of the scariest films they've seen. The film's success could potentially draw more attention to the often-overlooked horror genre in Hindi cinema. Recently, Shaitaan received a U/A certification.
In addition to Shaitaan, Ajay Devgn's packed release schedule for the year includes Maidaan, Auron Mein Kaha Dum Tha, Raid 2, Singham Again and an untitled film directed by Abhishek Kapoor, marking the debut of his nephew Aaman Devgan and Raveena Tandon’s daughter Rasha.
Ajay Devgn was last seen in Bholaa, his directorial venture, where he portrayed the role of a prisoner entangled in a conflict between drug lords and law enforcement. The film, a remake of the Tamil hit Kaithi (2019), also stars Tabu, Deepak Dobriyal, Sanjay Mishra, Gajraj Rao and Vineet Kumar.
On March 7, the makers of Maidaan, Ajay's post-Shaitaan release, unveiled the film's trailer. In Maidaan, Ajay will portray the legendary Indian football team coach, Syed Abdul Rahim, under whose leadership India secured gold medals in men's football at the 1951 and 1962 Asian Games.
