Aamir Khan, who celebrated his 56th birthday on March 14, shocked fans by announcing that he was leaving social media a day later. The 'Dangal' star took to his social media accounts and issued a statement on Monday informing fans that this was his last post on Twitter and Instagram. He added that future updates related to him and his professional life would now be found on the official handle of Aamir Khan Productions.
In his post, the superstar shared that he was quitting social media so that he can focus completely on his work. Aamir thanked fans for showering him with lovely wishes on his birthday. The note read, "Hey guys, thank you so much for all the love and warmth on my birthday. My heart is full. In other news, this is going to be my last post on social media. Considering that I am SO active anyway I have decided to drop the pretence".

Khan will be next seen in "Laal Singh Chaddha", which is being directed by Advait Chandan and is a remake of the hit Hollywood flick Forrest Gump. Tom Hanks had won the Best Actor Oscar for his role in Forrest Gump in 1994.
In February this year, Aamir, known for his method acting, decided to turn off his phone until the "Laal Singh Chaddha" hit theatres. He took this decision so that his work doesn't get affected. For the same reason, he has now bid goodbye to social media.
