Students scoring above 60 percent in Class 12 board exams to get laptops in Madhya Pradesh
The Madhya Pradesh government has revised the eligibility criteria for providing free laptops to Class XII students in state-run schools. Under this new scheme, students scoring 60 percent and above in their Class 12 board exams will now be entitled to receive laptops, a considerable drop from the previous requirement of 75 percent or higher marks.

Addressing the crowd during a rally in Khargone on Saturday, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said, “Your ‘Mama’ will support children's education. Next year, students who achieve at least 60 percent in the 12th board exams will receive laptops.”
The Chief Minister also said that under the CM ‘Meghavi Vidyarthi Yojna’ the government will cover the higher education fees for medical, engineering or management colleges.
Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan also made an announcement about giving scooters to girls, at a ‘Ladli Behna Yojana’ event in Gwalior on Sunday.
As reported by PTI, CM Chouhan said, “Three top-ranking students from both urban and rural areas will receive scooters.”
According to CM Chouhan, Rs 135 crore has been allocated for this scooter scheme.
This initiative initially focused on providing e-scooters exclusively to girl students. However, in a move to further expand educational opportunities for all, the government later extended the program to include male students as well.
On July 20, 2023, the state government disbursed a total sum of ₹ 196.6 crore to the bank accounts of 78,641 students who achieved a remarkable 75 per cent or higher in the state board Class XII examinations.
Under the Ladli Behna scheme, which aims to empower women, beneficiaries get Rs 1,000 in their bank accounts every month. Chief Minister Chouhan expressed his commitment to increasing this amount, stating, “I will increase it to Rs 3,000. Tell me if anyone else could do it.”
Meanwhile, the Madhya Pradesh Board of Secondary Education (MPBoSE) has released the date sheet for the MP Board Exam 2024. Class 10 exams are scheduled to take place from February 5 to 28, while the Class 12 exams will be held from February 6 to March 5, next year. The exams will be held from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Notably, on February 28, the board will conduct an exam on artificial intelligence (AI) under the National Skill Qualifications Framework (NSQF). The MP Board date sheet 2024 is available on the official website, mpbse.nic.in.
