The registration process for the Common Admission Test (CAT) 2023 will close at 5 p.m. today, September 20. Interested candidates can register for CAT 2023 on the official website, iimcat.ac.in.
According to the official notification issued by the Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow, there will not be any further extension of the CAT 2023 registration deadline. The earlier deadline for registration was September 13.
However, in an effort to accommodate last-minute adjustments, a brief window for editing personal details, including photographs, signatures and exam city preferences, will be provided to registered applicants. This edit option will be available exclusively to candidates who have successfully paid the registration fee and met the application deadline.
According to the CAT 2023 eligibility criteria, candidates must possess a bachelor's degree with a minimum of 50 percent marks or equivalent CGPA to apply for the exam. For Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Persons with Disability (PwD) candidates, a minimum of 45 percent marks are acceptable.
The application fee for CAT 2023 registration is Rs 1,200 for SC, ST and PwD category candidates, while all other candidates must pay Rs 2,400.
From October 25 to November 26, admit cards for the CAT 2023 will be accessible on the official website. The examination is scheduled for November 26. The exam will comprise verbal ability and reading comprehension; data interpretation and logical reasoning; and quantitative ability. Each section will allot 40 minutes for answering questions, with no switching allowed between sections during the exam.
To help candidates in preparing for this test, tutorials to understand the test format will be accessible on the CAT website starting October 2023.
The results for CAT 2023 are expected to be declared in mid-January 2024 and will be valid for the academic session 2024-25.
