Employers, want to hire GenZ? Don't forget they're assessing you too
You may have heard interviewers and career coaches often advise job seekers to go through their company’s profile before appearing for tests and interviews. While companies may test an aspirant's knowledge, a new survey suggests firms must be up-to-date on all platforms because the newest job seekers i.e. GenZers are also assessing them.

A substantial 40% of GenZ job seekers gravitate towards established brand names, while 30% exhibit interest in startups, a survey of over 4,700 GenZers has found.
Sure, the brand name is important but that’s not all.
The survey by internship and training platform Internshala has found that review platforms like Glassdoor play a crucial role for 39% of GenZ job seekers in assessing potential employers, underscoring the significance of online reputation management and creating a positive employer brand.
“For 30% of job seekers, the organisations’ website and online presence play a pivotal role in evaluating their reputation, demanding a strong digital footprint for attracting top talent,” the survey report said.
Intershala survey also advises employers to focus on engagement and retention strategies to foster loyalty and longevity among GenZ employees. This, as nearly half (49%) of GenZ individuals exhibit a positive attitude towards job hopping, signalling a willingness to change their employment frequently and explore diverse career paths and experiences.
Achieving work-life balance emerged as the primary measure of career success for 48% of GenZ job seekers, followed by financial stability at 29% and career advancement at 12%.
GenZ job seekers assess the career development opportunities offered by potential employers based on various factors, including learning and development programs chosen by 42% of GenZ job seekers, promotion opportunities for employees selected by 38% of job seekers, and the organisation's growth trajectory selected by 14% of job seekers.
“This highlights that a holistic approach to career development is crucial for attracting and retaining GenZ talent,” the survey has found.
