The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is set to complete the registration process for the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) January 2024 edition today, November 27. The eligible candidates can access the official CTET website, ctet.nic.in, to apply online.
The registration for CTET January 2024 was initially slated to end on November 23, 2023. However, CBSE recently extended the deadline, until November 27, due to the large number of applications received by the board.
“Due to a large number of aspiring candidates applying for the CTET Examination, the last date for submitting the online application has been extended up to 27-11-2023 and the fee can be paid up to 27-11-2023 till 11:59 PM,” read an official notification by CBSE.
CBSE commenced the registration process for the CTET January 2024 on November 3, 2023. The 18th CTET examination is scheduled to be held on Sunday, January 21, 2024, across 135 cities across the country. The exam will be held in 20 languages.
CTET January 2024 Exam Pattern
The examination will be held in two shifts of 2.5-hour duration each. The first shift is slated from 9:30 am to 12 pm, followed by the second shift from 2:30 pm to 5 pm. The CTET January 2024 exam will be facilitated through a computer-based mode (CBT).
The CTET 2024 examination encompasses two distinct papers. Paper I is for teachers to be recruited for Classes 1 to 5, while Paper II is for those aiming to teach the students of Classes 6 to 8.
The CTET 2024 will comprise multiple-choice questions (MCQs), with each question carrying 1 mark. Importantly, there is no negative marking for incorrect answers. Results for the January 2024 CTET exam are expected to be officially announced in February 2024.
CTET January 2024 Exam fee
For general and OBC category candidates, the registration fee is ₹1,000 for a single paper and ₹1,200 for both papers. The candidates belonging to the SC, ST and differently-abled categories need to pay ₹500 for a single paper and ₹600 for both papers.
How to apply online for CTET January 2024
Step 1: Visit the official website at ctet.nic.in.
Step 2: Click on ‘Apply for CTET Jan 2024’. A new page will appear on your screen.
Step 3: Register and log in with your user ID and password.
Step 4: Fill out the application form and pay the fee.
Step 5: Submit the application and take a printout for future reference.
