The Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) has opened the application process for consultant posts nationwide. As per the official circular shared by CPCB, the application process started on September 22 and the last date of applying is October 10, 2023. Candidates can apply online by visiting the official website of CPCB at cpcb.nic.in.

According to the official notification, the recruitment drive is being conducted to fill up 74 vacancies. The total vacant posts for consultants have been categorised into three segments: Consultant A, Consultant B and Consultant C. In Consultant A category, there are 19 vacancies while in Consultant B category there are 52 posts. Under the Consultant C category, there are only 3 vacancies.
Eligibility, Age and Qualification
As per the notification, the minimum age for applying for the job has not been mentioned. However, the maximum age limit to apply for the vacant post is 65 years as of September 1, 2023.
The educational qualification of the applicant varies depending on the categories:
  • For the post in Consultant A category, the applicant should either have a Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering/ Technology/ Science or a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering/ Technology along with good knowledge of MS Office or hold experience of 3 to 5 years in the field of Environmental Pollution management/control.
  • For the vacant post in the Consultant B category, the candidate should have a Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering/ Technology /Science or a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering/ Technology with good knowledge of MS Office. Apart from that, the ones who have work experience of 5 or 10 years in the field of Environmental Pollution management/ control can also apply for the post.
  • For applying in the Consultant C category, the candidate should have a Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering/ Technology / Science or a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering/ Technology or a PhD in the field of Environmental Science/Engineering/ Technology.

    • Fill in the application form with all required details.
