The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has extended the registration deadline for the CBSE Single Girl Child Scholarship 2023. The initial deadline was to be October 18, however, after requests by candidates, it was changed to October 31. This extension will give the eligible students more time to apply and to also benefit from this valuable scholarship opportunity.
What are the eligibility criteria for applying for the scholarship?
The female student must be the only child of their parents. In the case of twins, they will be treated as the single child of their parents.
Female students have to get a minimum of 60% marks or above in the CBSE Class X Examination to be qualified for the CBSE Single Girl Child Scholarship.
This scholarship is specifically for Indian nationals.
Students who are eligible must pursue further studies in Class XI and XII in a CBSE-affiliated school.
Tuition fees for school should not exceed Rs 1,500 for the academic year.
What is the duration of the CBSE scholarship?
The scholarship lasts a year and covers the end of Class 11. However, the continuity is subject to annual renewal depending on the scholar’s promotion to the next academic level and maintaining a minimum aggregate of 50% or more in the examination determining progression. To continue receiving the concession, it is essential that the monthly fee is below Rs 1,500 and any increase in the fees for the next two years shouldn't be more than 10% of the initial fee.

Go to the official website of the Central Board of Secondary Education.
Click on the ‘Single Girl Child Scholarship’ section on the homepage.
You can register using your Class 10 roll number and date of birth.
Use the same credentials to log in and fill out the application form.
Upload the required documents and fill out the application form thoroughly.
Once the application is completed, download and take a printout of the confirmation page for your records and future reference.
