As AI booms at workplaces, job skills expected to change nearly 65% by 2030, shows LinkedIn data
The future of work is rapidly evolving, and it's no surprise that artificial intelligence (AI) is at the forefront of this transformation. According to the latest report from the job searching platform LinkedIn, globally the skills required for jobs are expected to change by 65% by the year 2030.

This shift is being driven by the rapid advancements in AI, which are reshaping workplaces across the globe.
But here's the catch: these shifts are not some distant future scenario. They're already happening. LinkedIn's data suggests that in India, job postings that mention AI or Generative AI have more than doubled 2.5 times in the past two years. Moreover, these AI-related job posts have seen a 2.1 times increase in applications in India, compared to non-AI job posts.
Another report by Spectrum Talent Management says there has been a seismic shift in the recruitment sector. As per the data on its platform, there has been a growth of 12% in AI job postings for freshers in the past two quarters.
The report was based on an analysis of a substantial sample size of 500,000 candidates.
Additionally, professionals are eager to embrace AI in the workplace, with 98% of them in India expressing excitement about using AI to seek career advice and handle challenging situations at work, suggested LinkedIn's data.
HR's investing in AI
To navigate this transformative era effectively, business leaders are looking to their HR and recruitment teams to lead the way. In India, as per LinkedIn's data, 92% of talent professionals acknowledge that their roles have become more strategic over the past year, especially in talent acquisition.
Approximately 80% of HR professionals worldwide believe that AI will be an indispensable tool in the next five years, enabling them to concentrate on strengthening relationships with candidates, and colleagues, and engaging in creative and strategic work.
"With AI as a tool, HR professionals can focus on simplifying routine tasks, diving deeper into valuable, people-centric responsibilities, and ensuring their businesses are equipped with the right talent to prosper,” said Ruchee Anand, Senior Director of Talent and Learning Solution at LinkedIn India.
