The Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore (IIM-B), has revises its  admission policy for its primary postgraduate program. Admissions in the course happen through the Common Admission Test (CAT) score.

Candidates vying for admission to IIMs undergo a screening process based on their CAT scores, along with assessments such as the Written Ability Test (WAT), Group Discussion (GD), and Personal Interviews (PI).
IIM Bangalore assesses candidates using several factors, including academic performance in Class 10 and 12, undergraduate programs, and section-wise CAT scores, to determine their suitability for the PGP program. The presence of relevant work experience, if applicable, also influences the selection process. The institute employs a two-phase selection process, applying these criteria accordingly in both phases.
Under the updated admission policy, personal interviews will carry a weightage of 40 percent, up from the previous 35 percent.
To accommodate these changes, IIM Bangalore has adjusted the weightage allocated to Class 10 and 12 marks. In the initial shortlisting phase, each of these components now holds a 10 percent weightage, down from 15 percent. Additionally, in the final selection phase, the weightage for Class 10 and 12 marks has been reduced to 5 percent.
The comprehensive breakdown of weightage for selection is as follows:
CAT 2023 score: 25 percent
Class 10 marks: 5 percent
Class 12 marks: 5 percent
Graduation marks: 5 percent
Work Experience: 10 percent
Writing Ability Test: 10 percent
Personal Interview: 40 percent
