India's affordable LED lighting programme Ujala scheme is the most impressive but also the most disruptive programme that Signify had ever worked with, said  Eric Rondolat, CEO of the company.

"We had the challenge to meet the requirements of the government in terms of speed and also in terms of price points," said Rondolat.  "I think we have done a lot of effort and we have been very successful in doing so."
Dutch multinational Signify has relocated its global solar business to India and the company is developing several solar products. Speaking to CNBC-TV18 Rondolat the company plans to sell made in India solar products like integrated street light sun-stay in Europe and America as well.
The company is developing the first product in the world which they will call Sun Stay where the solar panels, the battery and the light source are embedded in the same luminaire at the same time, he said.
"It is being developed in India. We have already sold it successfully in India and now we are sending that product to Asia-Pacific and I think we can also sell that product in Europe and Northern America," Rondolat added.
