In an interview with CNBC-TV18 addressing the viability of the power sector, Singh highlighted its key achievements, stating, "We have made the sector highly viable, with aggregate technical & commercial (AT&C) losses reduced to 15.41%, and we are committed to bringing them down further to 12%. The dues of gencos have already seen a substantial decrease from ₹1.35 lakh crore to ₹52,000 crore."

Singh assured the public and stakeholders that the government is actively working to wipe out the remaining dues of gencos in the coming 10-12 months.

He emphasised that the current bills of gencos are up to date, subsidy payments are on schedule, and tariffs are being maintained promptly.

"The power sector's improved health is evident in the share prices of all power companies, which have experienced a surge, reaching two or three times their previous values," Singh added, underlining the positive impact of the government's measures on the financial performance of power companies.
