Dying lakes and depleting groundwater levels are a reality for Bengalureans. However, it's not all that grim yet, as a few have started doing their bit to conserve every drop of water.
In this episode of Network18's #MissionPaani, CNBC-TV18 brings you the story of A R Shivakumar, who hasn't bought a drop of water for the past 24 years.
When this scientist decided to build his house, he spent months researching on ways to make it sustainable. The result is this verdant home in Bengaluru's Vijayanagar and zero water bills. The house collects 45,000 litres of rainwater, more than enough for Shivakumar and his family.
