ISRO successfully launched HysIS and 30 co-passenger satellites aboard PSLV-C43.
PSLV's 45th flight lifted off from the First Launch Pad (FLP) of Satish Dhawan Space Centre Shar, Sriharikota. PSLV is a four stage launch vehicle with alternating solid and liquid stages.
HysIS or Hyper-spectral Imaging Satellite is an earth observation satellite developed by ISRO and the primary satellite of the PSLV-C43 mission.
PSLV-C43 successfully injected 380 kg HysIS into the polar Sunsynchronous Orbit (SSO), its primary goal is to study the earth's surface in visible, near infrared & shortwave infrared regions of the electromagnetic spectrum.
1 micro and 29 nano satellites from 8 countries, weighing 261.5 kgs, were HysIS' co-passengers. The co-passenger satellites were also successfully injected into their designated 504 km polar SSO.
These satellites were contracted for launch via ISRO's commercial arm, Antrix Corp.
