As we enter the last few days of 2020, all eyes and hopes are on the year ahead after a totally unexpected 7 to 9 percent GDP contraction this year.

A CNBC-TV18 poll shows that economists expect a 10-11 percent rebound in GDP in FY22. However, this double-digit growth will not even bring the Indian economy to the same size it was at the end of FY20.
So, do we maintain a 6 percent momentum or will it be more like the 5 percent that Morgan Stanley's Ruchir Sharma recently spoke about?
Also, what about the other macros in FY22, will inflation remain subdued as the November number seems to indicate, will credit grow and will that be the fuel of growth?
What will be the space left for the fiscal and monetary policy? Will the external world be a drag or will it be a support?
To answer all these, Latha Venkatesh spoke to Sudipto Mundle of NCAER, Samiran Chakraborty, chief economist at Citi India, Sonal Varma, chief economist at Nomura and Pranjul Bhandari, chief economist at HSBC India.
