The Indian government on Thursday (November 23) said it has received ₹401 crore as dividend tranches from EdCIL (India) Ltd, Mishra Dhatu Nigam Ltd (MIDHANI), Bharat Dynamics Ltd, Bharat Electronics Ltd and Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Ltd (MDL).

Also, EdCIL (India) Ltd contributed ₹20 crore, Mishra Dhatu Nigam Ltd (MIDHANI) added ₹23 crore, and Bharat Dynamics Ltd chipped in ₹16 crore as dividend tranches, the Department of Investment and Public Asset Management (DIPAM) secretary, Tuhin Kanta Pandey said in a tweet.

Further bolstering the government's coffers, Bharat Electronics Ltd and Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Ltd jointly contributed ₹225 crore and ₹117 crore, respectively, as dividend tranches.
The government expects a 17% higher dividend at ₹48,000 crore from the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), public sector banks, and financial institutions in 2023-24.
As per the Budget document, dividends from public sector enterprises and other investments have been pegged at ₹43,000 crore for FY24 as well.
