Government to exceed FY21 expenditure budget
According to a source based information from North Block, government will exceed its FY21 expenditure budget of Rs 30.42 lakh crore. The second supplementary bill will now detail the additional cash spend, including that on Aatmanirbhar 3.0.
The Finance Ministry last week relaxed the expenditure caps for a number of ministries and departments, a move aimed add power to the economy’s wheels by way of extra spending.
According to a source based information from North Block, government will exceed its FY21 expenditure budget of Rs 30.42 lakh crore. The second supplementary bill will now detail the additional cash spend, including that on Aatmanirbhar 3.0.
It is noteworthy that the regular Q4 cap on govt spend will not apply this financial year due to the COVID-19 pandemic situation.
