Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, who also holds the finance portfolio,  presented the state budget for the financial year 2023-24 on Monday. The Budget, worth over Rs 1 lakh crore, was presented using a tablet and hence  is called an "e-Budget".

Here are some top announcements from Chhattisgarh Budget 2023-34
> While presenting the Budget, Baghel announced that  a provision of Rs 25 crore has be allotted for "Naveen Yojana" for the welfare of the unemployed youth. The financial assistance of Rs 2500 per month will be provided to those who have passed Class 12, are aged between 18-25 years and their family's annual income is less than Rs 2.5 lakh.
> No new tax announced.
> The pension amount under the Samajik Suraksha Pension Yojana has been raised from Rs 300 to Rs 500 for elders, widows and specially-abled.
> Honorarium for employers at Anganwadi Kendras hiked from Rs 6,500 per month to 10,000 per month. Those with a salary of Rs 3,000, will now get Rs 5,000 monthly.
> Honorarium of cooks in school raised from Rs 1,500 to Rs 1800, that of cleaners at schools has been raised to Rs 2800 and honorarium of home guards have been hiked to Rs 6,420.
> Rs 6,800 for Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay Yojana.
> Under Mukhiya Mantri Kanya Vivah Yojana, the financial assistance has been increased from Rs 25,000 to 50,000.
> Industrial Parks to be established.
> RS 26 crore alloted for Nivesh Protsahan Yojana
> 101 Naveen Swami Atmanand English medium schools to be opened. Rs 870 crore allotted for this.
> Four new medical college to be opened in the state.
> Dr Khoobchand Baghel Health Assistance Scheme Rs 990 crore- also announced.
> Light Metro service will be started from Nava Raipur to Durg.
> Rs 2 crore for Ram Van gaman Path.
> Rs 10 crore for river front over Kharun river.
> Scheme to boost women's employment announced.
> Rs 28 crore allotted for new Chhattisgarh Bhawan in New Delhi's Chanakyapuri.
> Rs 10 crore for composite building and collector bhavan.
> Chhattisgarh Jan Niwas Yojana announced under the Chhattisgarh Cultural Connect Yojana for pilgrims travelling to other states.
> Rs 2.73 crore for temple restoration and services.
> Rs 5 crore for mobile medical unit at remote places.
> Provision of Rs 85 crores made for the development of a 700-bed integrated hospital building at Dr BR Ambedkar memorial hospital in Raipur. Mental hospitals to established in Raipur and Ambikapur.
> Rs 2000 crore for Jal Jeevan Mission Yojana. Rs 25 crore for setting up rainwater harvesting system at government buildings.
> Rs 25 crore for Kaushalya Samridhi Yojana
> Malkhamb Academy announced in Narayanpur. Adventure Sports Center in Kunkuri and a provision of Rs 25 crore made for Chhattisgarhi Olympics. International Badminton Academy to be established in Raipur.
> A hostel to be built by the state government for students studying in Kota.
> Rs 400 crore allotted for the development of primary and higher education
> Airstrip to be developed in Baikunth and Korba.
> The amount of food assistance increased from Rs 700 to Rs 1200.
> Mukhya Mantri dharohar Darjan Yojana to be initiated. Under this initiative, students will be given a tour and informed about the state's heritage.
> Rs 23.25 crore for establishment of new courts.
> Rs 500 crore for repair/construction of roads
> Rs 100 crore for Mukhiya Mantra Vriksha Sampada Yojana
> Rs 11 crore for jungle safari in new Raipur.
> Mukhiya Mantri Protsahan Yojana for SC, ST and OBCs.

> Rs 3,000 crore for Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojna.
> Rs 12 crore for International Ramayan Utsav.
The budget session of the Chhattisgarh Assembly began on Wednesday. The session will have 14 sittings and conclude on March 24. It would be the last budget session of the Bhupesh Baghel-led Congress government before the state goes to polls at the end of 2023.

Meanwhile, the Chhattisgarh Assembly launch its mobile app (Android version) on March 1. The app provides information related to budget, questions, Governor's address and proceedings of the House, Speaker Charan Das Mahant said earlier.
Chhattisgarh will go to polls by the end of this year.
