The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) has approved introduction of sulphur coated urea at ₹266.50 for a 40 kg bag. Sulphur-coated Urea is expected to play a pivotal role in enhancing soil health, optimising nutrient release, and ensuring improved crop yields.
The pricing strategy for "Urea Gold" mirrors that of the 45 kg bags of Neem Coated Urea.
The decision to price it on par with Neem Coated Urea demonstrates a concerted effort to encourage the adoption of environmentally friendly fertilizers without imposing an additional financial burden on farmers, news agency ANI reported.
