Cabinet approves phase-3 of e-courts programme with outlay of Rs 7210 crore for 4 years

The Union Cabinet on Wednesday, September 13, approved the phase 3 of e-courts programme with an outlay of Rs 7210 crore over the next four years.

Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting Anurag Thakur said the goal is to establish online and paperless courts and make the judicial system more transparent. The e-filing and e-payment systems will be made universal and cloud storage will be made to store the data. In all court complexes, 4,400 e-service centres would be established.
The Cabinet has also decided to give 75 lakh LPG connections for free till 2026 in an extension of Ujjwala Yojana.
The Cabinet has also approved foreign investment of up to Rs 9,589 crore in Suven Pharmaceuticals Limited, the government said in a statement.
The Cabinet passed a resolution congratulating and thanking Prime Minister Narendra Modi on behalf of the entire country for making the G20 Summit a huge success, Thakur said. He added the prime minister has emerged as a "man of global alliances", referring to the launch of Global Biofuels Alliance after earlier successes related to International Solar Alliance and Mission LiFE (Lifestyle for Environment).
