Sandeep Bhatia, head-India Equity at Macquarie, expects no major changes on taxation in the interim Budget 2019.

Saying that he looks for stability on taxation front, he explained, “People are not happy with the way the base numbers keep changing. People are not happy with the fact that it seems that there is an attempt to boost growth in periods when the economy has suffered dislocation,"
“I think what one should therefore look at is to go back when people used to look at the composition of tax revenues, the amount of tax revenues, how much is the growth projected and how the expenditure has moved, what is the fiscal deficit in absolute number and what government market borrowing in absolute numbers is,” he added.
