BPCL refinery blast fallout: Here are some of the challenges faced by residents of Mahul

Barely a fortnight ago, several people were injured in Mumbai's Mahul area when a unit at BPCL's refinery exploded. The incident has once again raised a much larger question -- that of the safety of around 30000 people who live within the radius of a few metres from the refineries and other chemical industries that operate nearby. CNBC-TV18's Ashwini Priolker visited the area and found that the people living in the area also complain about the adverse effect these industrial units are having on their health.
