The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will decide the schedule and the venues for Indian Premier League (IPL) only after the schedule for the 2019 general elections are announced, The Economic Times reported.
The BCCI is looking at options including advancing the event to March-April and holding it outside India, the report said citing two people with direct knowledge of the board’s plans.
According to the report, the board is mulling four options: a caravan format wherein all the teams travel together to all the venues; organising matches in smaller stadiums; holding some matches in India and rest in the UAE and an entire tourney in South Africa.
