The State Bank of India (SBI) has opened up the application process to hire probationary officers (PO) for 2,000 vacancies. The applications are invited till April 22.
Candidates between the age of 22-30 years can apply and register for the PO post online. The recruitment process will be held in three phases which include preliminary examination, main examination, group exercise and interview.
Applicants with a graduate degree from any discipline from a recognised university can apply. Applicants from general category can attempt for the examination at least four times while others are given seven. Persons with disability in the SC/ST category do not have any such restrictions.
At present, the starting salary of a PO is Rs 27,620 wherein candidates will be eligible for HRA, medical, dearness allowance among others. "SBI probationary officers' total salary compensation per annum on CTC basis will be a minimum of Rs 8.20 lakh and a maximum of Rs 13.08 lakh depending on the place of posting and other factors," the bank said.
Under the hiring process, a candidate has to appear for an online preliminary examination of 100 marks while the main online examination will be of 200 marks which would include descriptive tests.
