Sonata Software Ltd on Wednesday (October 25) reported a 10% year-on-year (YoY) rise in net profit at ₹124.2 crore for the second quarter that ended September 30, 2023. In the corresponding quarter last year, Sonata Software posted a net profit of ₹112.7 crore, the company said in a regulatory filing.
In the quarter, total revenue stood at ₹1,912.6 crore, up 28% from ₹1,496.0 crore in the corresponding period of the preceding fiscal.
At the operating level, EBITDA jumped 33% to ₹220.5 crore in the second quarter of this fiscal over ₹165.7 crore in the corresponding period in the previous fiscal. EBITDA is earnings before interest, tax, depreciation, and amortisation.
Dividend
The company declared an interim dividend of ₹7 per share (700% on par value of ₹1 ) for the financial year 2023-24. The record date for the purpose of payment of the interim dividend will be on November 7, 2023.
Bonus
Sonata Software also approved and recommended a bonus issue of 1 equity share for every 1 equity share held by the shareholders of the company as of the record date. The bonus issue of equity shares will be subject to approval by the shareholders.
Sonata Software's international services revenue increased by 4.6% quarter-on-quarter (QoQ) and 40% year-on-year (YoY) when measured in USD. Additionally, the company's domestic gross contribution exhibited substantial growth, surging by 16.5% YoY when denominated in Indian Rupees (INR).
The results came after the close of the market hours. Shares of Sonata Software Ltd ended at ₹1,048.90, down by ₹28.30, or 2.63%, on the BSE.
