Auto components maker Samvardhana Motherson International Ltd on Monday (February 12) reported a 26.5% year-on-year (YoY) increase in consolidated net profit at ₹633.3 crore for the third quarter that ended December 31, 2023.

In the corresponding quarter last year, Samvardhana Motherson International posted a consolidated net profit of ₹500.7 crore, the company said in a regulatory filing.
The company's consolidated revenue from operations increased 26.8% to ₹25,697.6 crore as against ₹20,267.2 crore in the corresponding period of the preceding fiscal.
At the operating level, EBITDA jumped 46.6% to ₹2,369.7 crore in the third quarter of this fiscal over ₹1,616.2 crore in the corresponding period in the previous fiscal.
EBITDA margin stood at 9.2% in the reporting quarter as compared to 8% in the corresponding period in the previous fiscal. EBITDA is earnings before interest, tax, depreciation, and amortisation.
The leverage ratio improved to 1.7x from 1.9x and the overall leverage is at a comfortable level. The net debt was reduced by 866 crore despite M&A payouts (net of cash/debt) of 750 crores during Q3. Approximately 50% of the Rs 1,800 crore growth capex has already been invested to support growth in emerging markets, the company added.

Reduction in Net Debt is important for us as we continue strengthening our financial position and pursuing strategic growth opportunities."
