Info Edge is buzzing in trade post good third-quarter earnings announcement. Though there is some sequential improvement - year-on-year (YoY) the metrics are much lower. Chintan Thakkar, CFO of the company spoke to CNBC-TV18 to give the Q3 fineprint and outlook going ahead.

“We have seen some kind of a positive movement not only in real estate but in recruitment in Q3. So actually we are seeing that every month after month economy seems to be recovering.”
“So real estate actually has improved and much more in Q2 and Q3 than what it was in Q1. We are seeing sequentially it is growing and rebounding much faster and we are kind of very happy about that,” he added.
On acquisition, he said, “The acquisition is just an investment that we have done and then we will see how it - it is too early for us to say anything on that. But we are also pursuing this strategy of investing in some of the other startups which are related to our operating business and see if we can also create a whole ecosystem which helps us in our operating business by virtue of having synergies in all these investments. So that is something which we are doing not only for real estate but also in the recruitment.”
On revenues, Thakkar said, “The way to look at our operating business is to look at the billing trends because they are the lead indicators. We are almost at pre COVID level when you look at year-on-year on Q3 basis. Going from here onwards we would see that if it is kind of continued to improve the overall economy and COVID situation than we are kind of more optimistic about it.”
