NMDC Q3 net profit zooms 63% to ₹1,470 crore, declares dividend of ₹5.75 per share

The Q3 EBITDA jumped 76% YoY to ₹2,007.2 crore, topping estimates. Shares of NMDC Ltd ended at ₹235.50, up by ₹8.80, or 3.88%, on the BSE.

NMDC Q3 net profit zooms 63% to ₹1,470 crore, declares dividend of ₹5.75 per share

State-owned NMDC Ltd on Wednesday (February 14) reported a 62.6% year-on-year (YoY) jump in net profit at ₹1,469.7 crore for the third quarter that ended December 31, 2023.

In the corresponding quarter last year, NMDC posted a net profit of ₹903.9 crore, the company said in a regulatory filing. CNBC-TV18 poll had predicted a profit of ₹1,512 crore for the quarter under review.


The company's revenue from operations increased 45.4% to ₹5,409.9 crore against ₹3,720 crore in the corresponding period of the preceding fiscal. CNBC-TV18 poll had predicted revenue of ₹5,259 crore for the quarter under review.

At the operating level, EBITDA jumped 76% YoY to ₹2,007.2 crore in the third quarter of this fiscal over ₹1,140.6 crore. CNBC-TV18 poll had predicted an EBITDA of ₹1,845 crore for the quarter under review.

The EBITDA margin stood at 37.1% in the reporting quarter versus 30.7% in the corresponding period in the previous fiscal. EBITDA is earnings before interest, tax, depreciation, and amortisation. CNBC-TV18 poll had predicted a margin of 35.1% for the quarter under review.

The board of directors has declared first interim dividend of  ₹5.75 per equity share of face value of ₹1 each for the financial year 2023-24.

The interim dividend will be paid to individuals whose names appear in the register of members as beneficial owners of the equity shares. Tuesday, February 27, has been set as the record date.

The results came after the close of the market hours. Shares of NMDC Ltd ended at ₹235.50, up by ₹8.80, or 3.88%, on the BSE.
