IT services company, Mindtree, on Wednesday posted 35.1 percent rise in consolidated net profit at Rs 191.2 crore for the third quarter ended December 31, 2018.
CNBC Polls had predicted a profit of Rs 190 crore for the quarter under review.
The company had registered a net profit of Rs 141.5 crore in the year-ago period, it said in a statement.
Mindtree saw its revenue grow 29.7 per cent to Rs 1,787.2 crore in the reported period from Rs 1,377.7 crore in December 2017 quarter.
The Bengaluru-based company has declared an interim dividend of Rs 3 per equity share.
The company said it has employed 518 BOTs as of December 31, 2018, "Automation is playing a significant role in modernizing our technology service delivery, enhancing both efficiency and speed-to-results for our clients. We are proud to report our BOTs strength that autonomously work along-side our Mindtree minds, enabling our team to do more and accomplish larger goals."
BOTs are software that acts autonomously, free from any interference, human or otherwise, to perform a significant task which will otherwise be performed by a human.
Mindtree had 340 active clients as of December 31, 2018. It had a total headcount of 19,908 with trailing 12 month attrition at 13.4 percent.
