Dwarikesh Sugar's Q4 losses came in on expected lines while revenues from distillery and sugar declined.
The price of sugar which was hovering around Rs 3,700 per quintal sometime in the month of December is now crashed to as low as Rs 2,700 per quintal, said Vijay Banka, managing director and CFO of Dwarikesh Sugar Industries.
“We have had a very sudden and stunning reversal in the fortunes of the sugar industry," he said.
“The prices should get better. How much they will get better is a million dollar question at this point in time,” said Banka.
