Travel agency company Easy Trip Planners on Wednesday announced a 66% year-on-year (YoY) jump in consolidated net profit at ₹47 crore for the second quarter ended September 2023 (Q2FY24). The same was ₹28 crore in the year-ago quarter.
The travel agency company's revenue from operations rose 31% YoY to ₹142 crore for the period as compared to ₹108 crore in the corresponding quarter of last fiscal.
On a sequential basis, the net profit and revenue also surged 81% and 14%, respectively, from ₹26 crore and ₹124 crore in the preceding quarter.
Operating profit, calculated as EBITDA, climbed 73% YoY to ₹65 crore for the September quarter as against ₹37 crore in the same quarter last year. Margins meanwhile, jumped to 45.6% for the quarter from 34.5% in September 2022.
Shares of Easy Trip Planners were trading nearly half-a-percent lower at ₹43.95 apiece on the NSE. The scrip has gained 6.39% in the last five trading sessions.
The travel stock was listed in March 2021 with a premium of 13.5% after a whopping 159 times subscription. Easy Trip’s listing was the worst among all the 28 IPOs that have seen over 100 times subscription since 2007.
