Power utility CESC Ltd on Friday (January 19) reported an 11.9% year-on-year (YoY) decline in net profit at ₹281 crore for the third quarter that ended December 31, 2023.
In the corresponding quarter last year, CESC posted a net profit of ₹319 crore, the company said in a regulatory filing. The company's revenue from operations increased 3.7% to ₹3,244 crore as against ₹3,129 crore in the corresponding period of the preceding fiscal.
At the operating level, EBITDA declined 30.2% to ₹346 crore in the third quarter of this fiscal over ₹496 crore in the corresponding period in the previous fiscal.
EBITDA margin stood at 10.7% in the reporting quarter as compared to 15.9% in the corresponding period in the previous fiscal. EBITDA is earnings before interest, tax, depreciation, and amortisation.
The board has declared an interim dividend of ₹4.50 per equity share (i.e., 450%) on the paid-up equity share capital of the company. CESC has announced that the record date for determining the eligibility of members to receive the interim dividend is set for February 1, 2024.
The results came after the close of the market hours. Shares of CESC Ltd ended at ₹143.65, up by ₹2.10, or 1.48 percent on the BSE.
