CNBC-TV18’s Managing Editor Shereen Bhan was awarded the Compliance 10/10 Award on Monday, October 10, 2023, at a glittering event in Mumbai. She was recognised for the transformational impact her contribution has had to the field of compliance and ethics in the arena of journalism.

CNBC-TV18's Shereen Bhan receives the Compliance 10/10 Award 2023 from former Supreme Court judge Justice BN Srikrishna and former Chief Justice of India Justice UU Lalit.This is the ninth edition of the awards hosted by Legasis. It brings together business leaders and legal and compliance professionals each year to celebrate excellence in Governance, Risk, Assurance, Compliance, and Ethics. The event aims to recognise the contributions of those individuals, teams and organisations that have spearheaded the fostering of this culture of compliance and ethics not only in their respective organisations but also across the industry.
Past Winners in the category include Sandeep Kapoor (then of Sequioa), Rajiv Chandan of Tata Chemicals, Nasser Munjee (then of DCB Bank), Shyamala Gopinath (then of HDFC) & veteran journalist Sucheta Dalal.
Shereen Bhan is no stranger to awards and recognition. Over the course of her 22-year tryst with business journalism, Shereen has been the recipient of the 'Best Business Talk Show' award at the News Television awards for two years consecutively. She also won the 'FICCI Woman of the Year' award for her contribution to the Media in 2005, and was named a 'Young Global Leader' by the World Economic Forum. She also won the ‘Best Business Anchor Award’ at the ‘News Television Awards’ in 2013 and the ‘Best English News Anchor Award’ in 2018.
More notably, Shereen has been ranked No. 1 in IMPACT's '50 Most Influential Women In Indian Media, Marketing & Advertising List for 2022' and has been consistently featured on the list from 2018, 2019 and 2020.
At the prestigious ENBA 2019 Awards, she won the News Television Editor-in-Chief of the year in the English category and the Best Anchor, English. She continued her winning streak at the 2020 edition of ENBA Awards as well by bagging the Managing Editor of the Year – English and Best Anchor – English awards.
Her other notable awards include the prestigious Bharat Asmita National Award 2022 for excellence in Business journalism; India's Most Trusted Business News Anchor award by IDEASFEST 2022, as well as the Outstanding Contribution to Media award by the esteemed AIMA’s 12th Managing India Awards 2022.
A graduate in Philosophy from St. Stephen's College, Delhi, and a post-graduate in Communication Studies from the University of Pune, she has over two decades of experience in the field of Television Broadcast, most of which have been spent tracking corporate and policy news and events that have defined the business landscape in India. Over the years, Shereen has been not only producing and anchoring flagship daily news shows like 'India Business Hour' but has also been hands-on in guiding and moulding young business journalists.
She has been responsible for breaking a range of news stories that have redefined the Indian economic landscape in recent times and has also interviewed some of the biggest names in business and politics, both domestic and global.
Shereen is also the Anchor & Editor of 'Young Turks,' one of India's longest running shows on entrepreneurs – a section that over the last more than 16 years has successfully built a niche category in business news programming. As author of Young Turks, a book published by Random House India, Shereen put together a compilation of stories on India’s burgeoning start-up economy. Some of the names and stories collected here are today legendary in entrepreneurial circles.
Shereen has interviewed some of the biggest names in Business from Legendary investor Warren Buffet, Bill Gates, Richard Branson, Sheryl Sandberg, Indra Nooyi to name just a few.
She has also spent several years tracking the Indian politics, economy, and the political-economy; this includes interviewing several Finance Ministers and other Cabinet Ministers over the years. Shereen has spearheaded several special programming initiatives including special in-depth series on PM Modi's visits to USA.
